Hello,

Please, have in mind that this Coupe S was assemblied in South African factory, where there were available some special specs, options and colors (like the NUT GOLD) which weren't available anywhere else...
I told to Rob that he should try to locate a South African Audi Coupe S brochure where he might find the real true color of his car, in case it is'n resprayed...

Be well,
::

Although I cannot understand exactly what you mean, can you tell the spare part number of the "correct" spare part you are looking for?
It will be no place for missunderstandings if you will use Audi spare parts' numbers...
Be well,

Theo

Hello Gerard,

I thought that you bought from me a very nice pair of these rubber bumbers (815...) some weeks ago...
Do you need more of them?
I have some new ones for 100 Euros... (don't mixed them with the 803.... similar ones... They are not the same!)

Be well,

Theo

Hello Patrick, Hello Gerard,

The youtube video is a JOKE video that a good friend of mine "created", whem he was in USA, helping a local Audi 100er enthusiast to repair his other clean Audi 100LS... So, don't take it for a REAL barnfind car... hahahahahaha

The red Coupe S "cabrio" you have seen on the photos is NOT a Karmann creation... You mixed this with the real Audi 100 LS Cabriolet prototyp (which is still existed!) which this car was made by KARMANN...
This red "cabrio" is made by a German 100er enthusiast almost 20 years ago...

There is also another custom made red 2door sedan converted to a cabrio in Germany. Its owner had the complete TOP COVER system adopted from a BMW e30 cabrio. The result is quite successfull with good result, opticaly. I don't know if the body had strengthened properly... But the idea of adopting BMW spare parts to an Audi 100er, is not my favorite...

My old result of a quite deep research I had done to this issue of converting a Coupe S to a cabrio car is more RADICAL...

I found out an almost perfect fitment could be achieved by using a Porsche 911 cabrio (1985-1995) models. You will see that the doors' windows top ending is quite the same...
In addition to this, when the top would be closed. the outline of the COUPE S curved roof line is still remaining...

But there is a HINGE!!! The body floor should be SHORTENED almost 15cm as far as I remember... In that way, the 911 top, would be a "perfect" match to keep the roof line with the trunk cover in the same curve...

So, you can make HISTORY creating a short based CABRIO with Porsche 911 cabrio top...
The short based conversion has also the benefits of creating a more stiffer construction and more easily manufacturing all the extra steel strengthening parts to weld them on the body...

My 5cent,

Theo

Hello,
Are you going to create a fully custom made top cover system or you are going to adopt an existed one from another cabriolet DONOR car?

Did you have any scetches or designs to show us what exact shape you are going to give to "your" Audi Cabriolet S version?

I prefer the C=columns to be kept... Not like the very FLAT rear ended Cabriolet modification on the photos...

Bonjour a tous,
I had 2 pairs of brand new (815 407 271) complete half axles, still inside their original Audi NSU carton boxes in my garage for over 30 years... My father had bought them by accident, thinking they were suitable for his 69er 100 LS car... But, Hipefully for me (nowdays!) he was wrong!!!
I had also for sale one of these 2 pairs in the US ebay, 3 weeks ago... Too pity :: that you didn't see this auction. They were sold soon for 1000 Euros!

The other pair of these precious babes will be installed on my 71er M34 Coupe S restoration project...

You didn't tell for what Coupe S model you need such halfaxles... For Automatic or for manual?

Are you still interested in buying remanufactured complete hald axles? or new or remanufactured outer/inner CV joints?

Regards,

Theo (audicoupes1@yahoo.com)

Here some photos of the ones I have in my files from a Coupe S car who turned to a CABRIO, back in the 90's in Germany...

So, it seems that NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE when you want something so much...

KEEP TRYING, Gerard, to live your dream...

I think I know the hard way the true meaning of this MOTTO:
"If it is worth doing, it is worth OVERDOING..." ::

Salut,

Theo

PS> I have updated and keep feeding my blog (http://www.audivirus.blogspot.com/p/o ... restoration-audi-100.html) with fresh photos :photo: from the Audi 100 Coupe S 71er M34 orig. specifications restoration project I carry on from some years now...
Enjoy!
